The alarm goes off, you hit snooze.
You are already behind schedule by the time you get out of bed.
You make a big cup of coffee to fight the brain fog which is probably from the wine you had last night.
You get a bit jittery from it, but it’s better than feeling foggy.
You have a piece of toast and some cereal with another cup of coffee.
By midday, you start to crash.
It's now time for another energy boost, maybe in the form of an energy drink and energy bar.
By the end of the day, you are exhausted but the caffeine and sugar are keeping you awake.
But now there’s more to do. House chores, dinner, homework, a social gathering, personal care etc.
By the time you’ve finished everything, it feels like you’ve finished a marathon and now you deserve a reward.
You are also still stimulated and need something to tell your body you are done for the day.
A glass of wine or even a painkiller seems necessary.
Eventually, you head to bed, you are tired but wired. Half asleep half awake. Your night goes by without the deep sleep your body needs, you wake up groggy and you repeat this for 5 out of 7 days.
Something we can all relate to in our modern life is stress, and it's taking a serious toll on our health.
To cope with it, it’s easier to rely on sugar, alcohol and pharmaceuticals, but this isn't doing us any favours.
It's draining our mental and physical energy, preventing us from sleeping well and performing at our best.
No wonder 90% of doctor's visits nowadays can be traced back to stress!
We are not making it easy for ourselves.
But what if there was another way?
One that has hundreds of years of traditional wisdom behind it and is backed by modern science.
Imagine waking up before your alarm, you are wide awake, you have energy, your mind feels clear, and you are excited for the day ahead.
You glide through your morning routine, and you are ready to take on the day ahead.
When you are faced with stress, it doesn’t stay around for very long.
You move with clarity and purpose, balanced in a way you once didn’t know you were capable of.
